The Intercontinental Resort Tahiti
The Intercontinental Resort Tahiti, formerly the legendary Beachcomber, has long been rated the top hotel of Tahiti. It has a superbly romantic location lagoon side in 30 acres (12 hectares) of tropical gardens, with spectacular views across to the soaring peaks of Tahiti's sister Island, Moorea. We are just over a mile (2 km) from the airport, (important when you arrive in the wee hours after a long flight) and the capital and port city, Papeete, are about six miles (10 km) down the road.
Rooms :
Intercontinental Resort Tahiti nothing's higher than the coconut palms in our low rise Polynesian-style resort of 263 rooms, suite and overwater bungalows.
To make you feel you're in Tahiti, all accommodations are attractively decorated in a tasteful and relaxing Colonial Polynesian theme.

The rooms are in three categories in nine adjoining three story buildings spread out in our luxuriant grounds:
- - With views over the lagoon and the ocean to neighboring Moorea:
- - 60 Panoramic Rooms, our largest rooms, at the more secluded Lotus end of the resort.
- - 92 Ocean View Rooms, smaller but spacious and cozy, close by the central core of the resort.
With garden views:
Garden view rooms, same size as the Ocean view rooms but at garden level and most with a partial view of the ocean.
Bungalow
Intercontinental Resort Tahiti The overwater bungalows, thatched with pandanus leaves, are our most romantic choice - inspired by traditional Polynesian houses called fare. They're built on stilts let into the lagoon bed and all have ocean views, private terraces and sundecks with direct access to the lagoon for swimming or snorkeling. There are two designs:
- - 15 Overwater Lagoon Bungalows, our larger Junior Suite size bungalows, built at the Lotus end of the resort over deeper (10') water. Large bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs and separate shower.
- - 16 Overwater Motu Bungalows, somewhat smaller bungalows built in a semi circle around their own private little island, called a motu in Tahitian. They are in front of the Lagoonarium and main pool and buildings.
SUITE
Finally, we have a Presidential style suite
- - 1 Panoramic Suite, our most sumptuous unit complete with lounge and dining room.
- - Overwater Suite Villa, a luxury achievement in Tahiti, the only Suite Overwater of the island
ROOMS FOR THE DISABLED
The hotel have two Garden Rooms specially adapted for the disabled for whom access to restaurants, bars and pool areas is available from the elevators.
Entertainement :
For the entertainment of our guests as well as for local residents, we stage regular theme events in our Tiare Restaurant. On three nights a week it is transformed into a theater restaurant for exciting dinner shows that will give you a sense of the traditional culture of Polynesia.
Dining starts at 7 pm and shows around 8 pm

“The Friday Soirée Merveilleuse”:
intercontinental resort tahiti It's been most popular dining event in Tahiti. The lavish seafood buffet is legendary amongst the locals and is followed by live music and a thrilling show brought to you by the internationally renowned "Grands Ballets de Tahiti".
“The Saturday Bounty Night”
Another dinner show with entertainment in the form of the reenactment by Les Grands Ballets, inspired by the famous story of the Mutiny of the Bounty, Captain Bligh presiding. Dances are performed by the "Grands Ballets de Tahiti".
“Our Sunday Tahitian Brunch”: 7:00 am - 10:00 am
Something very appreciated by the locals is our Sunday brunch buffet complete with a wide range of traditional Tahitian delicacies. There's a fantastic ambience and lively Tahitian music.

A band plays nightly in our Tiki Bar - the place to catch the romance of the sunset.
